OVERCOMING FEAR...

Fear has left me paralyzed on stage, stopped me from chasing my dreams, even raising my hand in class to say "Here!" back in school. Brandon Berry is an Actor now based in Atlanta, Ga and he was kind enough to share some of the ways he has been able to overcome fear and chase his dreams. I appreciate his transparency and all that he shares. I am sure you will be inspired!

OVERCOMING LOW SELF ESTEEM...

I identify especially with a dark skin (brown skin, whatever shade of brown you are) girls journey to love themselves. I enjoy hearing the worse and best times that comes with the journey to understanding your beauty. Beauty is definitely in the eyes of the beholder and its sad that we are the first to not find beauty within ourselves. Monique said everything so perfectly and I could not be more proud to know someone like her. Enjoy!

Overcoming Shame...

I met Ms. Juva in a training class for work and she has always been so kind and inspiring. Being the true nosey person I am a.k.a an observer of people for my art :) I would listen to her talking on the phone encouraging people to have faith and to chase their dreams despite life's twists and turns. I knew there was definitely more to her story. Being the church kid at heart I assumed she was a minister but didn't want to ask any cliché questions so through small talk I found out about her book. After receiving my autographed copy I read it the same day and was SO inspired. Check out the video, purchase her book you will find a new reason to forgive yourself and move on. I promise! The link it below to purchase!

Overcoming Rape and Depression...

Ms. Jodie was one of the first people I can remember that believed that I was capable of more than I projected (other than my mom of course). She believed that I was a leader despite being shy and trying my best to be invisible. I walked into her group meeting for 'Teen Summit' and long story short, I was made VP and the next year I was the President. None of it would have even happened if it wasn't for the vulnerability and honesty in stories like Ms. Jodie's. She showed that its never too late to be who I was afraid to be yesterday. When I got my first MacBook in 2011 I asked if she would be my first guest on my new show called 'I am an...Overcomer' and without hesitation, she said yes. I took the interview down about a year later embarrassed of the quality and forgot about the project. I have since come to my senses and re-launched the series showcasing all of the people willing to show the power they posses to overcome life and pursue happiness regardless of the obstacles they face.
